      What a great companion to my Indigenous flute collection!

      Most of these songs are very old Indigenous compositions passed forward from great players of the past and present, like Tom Ware, Kevin Locke, Carlos Nakai, Keith Bear and song keeper Betty Hensley. There are a couple of Carl's original compositions too.
      I love how the songs are presented in very basic playing style and notation. You can learn them and then embellish them after your own style of playing. I can't wait to play them with my Indigenous-tuned flutes! Just what I was looking for. I believe they are all demonstrated on the modern Native flute.
      The accompanying music is a digital download, not a physical CD, which arrives by separate email after purchase. Don't be alarmed when you see the empty CD pocket in the back of the book.

      You can learn the music that was born on the instrument

      These are nice renditions of Native songs. And I can't read music so it's wonderful that I have music sheets in tablature to learn them. Native American flute style music has become more popular - which is great - and the instrument is used for playing a wide variety of popular songs and interpretations of other styles. So, it's good to hear the music that originated on this magical instrument that has entranced so many of us. I was able to learn a couple of the easier melodies in a short session. Some of them will be more challenging - a nice mix :)
