Toubat Tribute Flutes by Laughing Mallard Flutes [F# Major]

Years ago, Jeff Calavan received a call from Dr. Richard Payne, a man whose contributions to the Native American flute are unmatched. Doc introduced Jeff to the Toubat flute—and with it, an unforgettable warble.

Over time, a deep friendship formed. Near the end of Doc’s life, he entrusted Jeff with the Toubat name, his tools, and the responsibility of carrying its story forward.

Doc later signed a small number of Toubat flute blanks, asking Jeff to finish them one day for those who would honor the flute’s rich history.

“He handed me a Toubat flute and made it warble. I nearly fell over. Then he said, ‘Now this is a flute.’”

These 15 flutes are a part of that legacy.
